Home   Marinas   MDL Hythe Marina Village

Hythe Marina Village was the first marina village to be built in the UK and is still one of our finest. Located on Southampton Water's western shore, it’s a unique development of a 206-berth marina, waterside homes and shops, restaurants, bars and a boutique hotel.

For those looking for fine dining options, The Boathouse is located in the heart of the marina and is also a boutique hotel. And brand new to the marina, experience aromatic spices and luxurious curries at The Indian Kitchen.

Boatyard Facilities

As well as its first-class berthing and marina services, Hythe Marina Village has a boatyard within it for DIY maintenance work, using the various marine services on site, or getting help from our own professional, highly qualified team.

We can lift vessels up to 40 tons (if you need more, please check in advance), and we offer an emergency boat lifting facility.

There is storage ashore for over 120 boats and a slipway with ample space for trailer and car storage. Both petrol and diesel are available at cost to Freedom Berthing members.

Fuel is also available and online bookings can be made via MyMDL for Hythe Marina Village and any of our fuel stations in the UK.

Pump Out Facilities

A pump out station is located on the fuel berth at Hythe Marina Village. The Green Blue has developed an online map to show which marinas, boatyards and harbours provide environmental facilities such as pump out, black water/Elsan disposal, recycling, freshwater refill points, hazardous waste disposal and filtered/bunded boat washdown. Click here for the location map.

Out and About

The marina entrance is controlled by lock gates, operated 24 hours a day throughout the year, and there is easy access to Southampton Water and several of our other marinas situated in and around the Solent. Cruising enthusiasts can explore the Beaulieu River to the west or continue on to the bustling town of Lymington, close to the New Forest.

Heading east takes you to Portsmouth, steeped in naval history, and there are numerous anchorages to explore within the sheltered waters of Chichester Harbour.

It's easy to pop across to our other marina at Ocean Village, in the centre of Southampton, for dinner or to visit the independent cinema there. In addition, a regular ferry service runs from Hythe right into the centre of Southampton.
