Marina Manager
Bertie joined MDL in the summer of 2015, initially as a Seasonal Team Member at Ocean Village Marina. He then progressed to role of Office Administrator before taking on the role of Marina Manager at Port Hamble. Prior to joining us, Bertie worked in the hospitality and restaurant industry managing pubs and venues across the south coast. He now enjoys time on the water with his family exploring local beaches and waterways.
Seasonal Marina Operative
Joining the team in February 2024, Esta has previously worked in the motor and healthcare sectors. In more recent years, she has been based on the south coast, working with various marine companies, including brokers and commissioning offices. With over 20 years of experience on the water, Esta is familiar with the east coast of America and the cruising waters off the Bahamas.

Georgia joined MDL in 2023. She is currently studying Environmental Science at university. Having previously worked in hospitality, this is her first time working in the marine industry. In her spare time, Georgia enjoys rock climbing and playing netball.

Henry joined MDL in the autumn of 2018. Prior to joining us he worked in Africa as a safari camp manager and guide. He trained as a traditional boat builder and expanded in to carpentry and house construction. He is looking to develop his sailing experience and is working towards his Yachtmaster Qualification.

Ian joined MDL in 2011 as Seasonal Operative and later took on the full time role of Marina Operative. Prior to joining MDL, Ian worked in defence system engineering, then moved to work along the River Hamble. In Ian's spare time you will find him playing the bass and is a keen motorcyclist.
Night Marina Operative
Jamie joined MDL in the summer of 2006. He previously worked for a charter company and is an accomplished yachtsman.
Administrator
Jess joined MDL in the summer on 2023. She comes with a background in childcare and working in legal offices. Jess has enjoyed getting out on the water after completing her Powerboat Level 2 course and VHF training.
Marina Operative
Patrick joined MDL in 2022, initially working at Hamble Point Marina before transferring to Port Hamble in November 2023. Patrick grew up on Reunion Island and spent time in Marseille. Before joining MDL, Patrick enjoyed a long career in retail, with many years at John Lewis. When not at work, Patrick enjoys sailing on his own yacht and paddleboarding on local waterways.
Seasonal Marina Operative
Rich joined MDL in the summer of 2022. Outside of work, he enjoys sailing with his family. He has spent several years alternating between climates, following the snow for the winter ski seasons. Most recently, he has worked as a ski instructor in Morzine, on the French-Swiss border.

Rob joined MDL in February 2024. With a diverse career that has taken him all over the world, his experience ranges from 5 years aboard the QE2 to working in the construction offices for the original Ocean Village Development. Rob even spent time with Nintendo in Seattle. Now settled back in the UK, he enjoys dinghy racing and is a fan of ice hockey and motorbikes.

Joining MDL in February 2024 to continue his career in the marine industry. Steve has a wealth of experience in selling yachts, motor boats, and marine equipment. He is a qualified Powerboat Level 2 instructor and has spent the last 5 years racing competitively on the Solent. When on solid ground, Steve can be found on the tennis court.
