Highlights at Cobb's Quay Marina: News and updates for our customers

Firstly, a huge thank you from all of us at Cobb’s Quay to our lovely customers. Another fantastic season has passed, and we hope you’ve found the time to enjoy the water and explore our beautiful surrounding areas.

Marina Events

It’s been another busy season, and although the sunshine wasn’t always on our side, we didn’t let that get in our way.

• Marina Day: We started the year with this fantastic event, giving berth holders the chance to meet the team, and for us to showcase our tenants and the services they offer
• Children’s Crabbing Competition: This fun-filled day was enjoyed by all while raising money for Guide Dogs for the Blind – and we even got to meet some of the dogs!
• Various Events: We enjoyed hosting several events over the season, including Pimm’s and Posies for Mother’s Day, Father’s Day beer trolley of treats, photos competitions and much more!

Looking ahead to 2025, we’re planning another action-packed events calendar, including regular Meet the Manager and Team days, Marina Day, Easter treats, a cheese and wine evening, and Berth holders’ summer party. We can’t wait to see you at these events!

Investments

2024 saw continued investment in the marina:

• Smart Electric Meters: New Meter MACS electric pedestals were installed – more information to follow soon.
• Pontoon Improvements: We also redecked C & D pontoons, with the final touches being completed over the next few weeks.
• Car Parking Barrier: Now fully operational after some initial teething problems, the new barrier adds an extra level of security and helps reduce unauthorised parking, freeing up space for customers
• Saltmarsh Building Repairs: Over the summer, we completed comprehensive repairs to the concrete surrounding the Saltmarsh Building.

Looking ahead to 2025, we’ve got even more improvements in the pipeline, starting with the replacement of the F pontoon walkway. Stay tuned for updates!

Team

This year, we welcomed some fantastic new staff members to support the core team: Tom, Ronald, Danny, and Lucinda, who have all settled in seamlessly. We’ve also been lucky to have some of our brilliant seasonal staff return and continue their great work.

Local News

Exciting news from the Birds of Poole Harbour! You may be aware that a reintroduction of Ospreys was introduced into the harbour in 2017. If you’ve been watching the live videos of these majestic birds, you’ll be thrilled to know their breeding programme has been a great success. You can read more about this incredible project here.
