Highlights at Port Hamble Marina: News and updates for our customers

As we prepare to bid farewell to 2024, we want to take a moment to thank each of you for being part of the Port Hamble community. With strong annual berth holder occupancy, increased activity at the fuel berth compared to last year, and over 7,000 visitor nights at the marina, it’s been a vibrant and busy year. It’s been wonderful to see so many of you enjoying the Solent, even with some unseasonal weather along the way.

Sustainability & Maintenance

This year, we took significant steps to enhance sustainability and improve your marina experience. Some of the key projects included:

  • Solar Panel Installation: Solar panels were installed on two rooftops, reducing our carbon footprint and supporting our commitment to sustainable energy use.
  • Electrical Enhancements: We upgraded our electrical infrastructure, converting older systems to energy-efficient LED lighting, future-proofing for increased demand, and accommodating new technologies.
  • Pontoon Improvements: We replaced decking on the finger pontoons between the A-E walkways, enhancing safety, durability, and aesthetics.
  • Bridge Head Replacement: The bridge supplying the F pontoons was replaced as part of ongoing capital investment, providing improved access and reliability.

Convenience & Service

We introduced a refreshment kiosk at the fuel berth, offering cold refreshments for your convenience. The fully attended fuel service operated from 9am to 6pm, with extended hours until 8pm during the peak summer months to meet your needs.

Our on-site team remains the backbone of the marina, operating 24/7 through all conditions. Familiar faces like Henry, Ian, Patrick, Jamie, and Rob continue to provide excellent frontline service, with Jessica expertly handling administration, account and contract queries. Seasonal workers return year after year to assist across the site, covering the fuel berth, assisting arrivals on and off the pontoons, maintaining the estate, and manning the main office.

You can meet the full team and learn more about us at the Port Hamble Marina Team page.

Events & Charity

Thank you to everyone who joined us for Easter chocolates and summer events, including Pimm's & Scones and the charity BBQ.

Our Trolley of Treats made regular appearances throughout the season, enjoyed by berth holders in all weather conditions! Next year, we’re planning to expand on this with a large berth holder event that will bring together berth holders from Port Hamble, Hamble Point, and Mercury Yacht Harbour.

In August, the Port Hamble Marina team and berth holders united to support the Hamble Independent Lifeboat. Through a month-long campaign, we raised over £3,000 for this vital local charity. Our partnership continues to grow, and we’re excited about future plans to support this important cause.

Looking Ahead

As always, the Port Hamble Marina team is here for you 24/7, 365 days a year, ensuring your vessel is well cared for. If you’re visiting during December, don’t forget to pop into the marina office for a festive treat as we celebrate the close of 2024 and gear up for an exciting 2025.

Thank you once again for your continued support—we’re looking forward to another wonderful season ahead!

Warm regards from the Port Hamble Marina Team.
