The team would like to start off by saying a massive thank you to all our berth holders for keeping your boat with us this year.
Marina Improvements
Over the past year, the 17th Port and Maritime Regiment Army divers have visited us for environmental works. We’ve also been busy planning the annual lock shutdown, which is due to happen late January / early February (dates to be confirmed). We’ve planned for the waiting pontoon to be completely refurbished alongside the lock shutdown to keep disruption to a minimum.
A new pump-out station will be implemented for the early part of 2023. Another project for the coming year will be replacement of some of the marina piles. We’re committed to improving your marina experience, so if you notice anything that needs attention at the marina, please report it to the Lock Office so we can put it right as soon as possible.
Staff News
This year has seen changes for the team here at Hythe. The first of which was the news that Mark, the marina manager, is leaving us having been promoted to run MDL's Northney and Sparkes marinas. We wish him all the best in his new role and we’re actively recruiting a new marina manager. In the meantime, our experienced team will continue to look after you and your boat and we’re sure that Mark’s replacement will continue to drive the highest standards for all here at Hythe.
Events Calendar
The Raft Race back in August was met with great success and we hope to replicate, what was the best year so far! Please keep a look out on our Facebook page and around the marina for details of any upcoming events. If you’d like to see a particular event next year, let us know using our online form. Don’t forget you can also join The Even Keel, our online boating community, and organise events and discuss the latest in boating with fellow berth holders.
Christmas is on the horizon and there will be festive treats and sights at the marina during December, so if you’re visiting be sure to enjoy the Christmas Carol event in The Village Square. We look forward to another great season of events next year.
