MDL reveals newly refurbished Cat House at Woolverstone Marina & Lodge Park
We're delighted to announce the completion of the extensive refurbishment of The Cat House at our Woolverstone Marina and Lodge Park in Suffolk. This luxurious and Grade II-listed riverside retreat is now available for bookings.
Nestled beside the picturesque River Orwell, The Cat House offers a stunning escape where peace, sophistication and luxury living converge. This unique property, set within the beautiful Suffolk countryside, is designed to provide guests with an idyllic slice of riverside life, combining modern amenities with the natural beauty of the surrounding area.
Featuring iconic battlements on its north gable, the Gothic-style Cat House is a spacious 7-berth, 4-bedroom property, with three luxury double beds and one single bed. Additional highlights include spacious living and entertainment areas, fully equipped kitchen with modern appliances, smart TVs throughout, luxury linens and a private courtyard and outdoor dining area. It is exquisitely designed to bring guests closer to nature, with numerous walking and cycling routes nearby.
Boasting a rich history, legend has it that The Cat House was named in honour of a former owner sympathetic to smugglers entering Suffolk on the River Orwell carrying contraband to Ipswich and beyond. After his favourite cat died, he had it stuffed and would place it in the window to signal the coast was clear of customs boat patrols.

With the first reservations commencing from 2nd September 2024, guests can enjoy flexible booking options with peak and off-peak pricing, including 3-night (weekend), 4-night (midweek) and 7-night stays.
