Optima launch their first innovative 100% electric boat at South Coast & Green Tech Boat Show
Optima Electric Boats are excited to be launching their first innovative 100% electric boat at the South Coast & Green Tech Boat Show – a 10m luxury dayboat/weekender, pushing the boundaries in terms of design, capabilities and styling.
The ultra-efficient, low resistance hull form benefits from a significantly reduced energy consumption to provide a range of up to 200 NM, along with reduced charging requirements and comfortable sea keeping. The e10 provides all day cruising in style, comfort and... silence!
Chloe Kendall, Optima’s Commercial Director explains “Our first 10m boat has a double cabin, separate heads/shower, extensive galley and social areas - induction hob, large fridge and seating for up to 10 people around a large cockpit table, as well as a sun bed area."
The removal of the conventional engine room creates a large garage for storing dinghy, outboard, fenders and accessories such as SUPs and foiling boards. The optional roof provides protection from sun or rain.
Design work has started on larger models, for both the leisure and commercial markets.
The e12 cruiser will feature 2 double cabins with a choice of enclosed or open cockpits incorporating extended galley and seating areas.
For the commercial market the 12m hull is also being configured for use as a water taxi for 12 passengers. Further studies are underway for larger electric vessels carrying up to 20 passengers in luxury.
