Port Hamble Marina Winter News
We’d like to start off by saying a massive thank you to all our berth holders for keeping your boat with us this year, for what has been another busy season.
Marina Events
We’ve enjoyed a return to normal activity in the marina and thankfully social distancing is a now behind us. We’ve been delighted to see many berth holders at our social events hosted over the summer. Feedback from everyone who attend was “great, we’d love to have more of these” and plans are coming together nicely for more similar events next year. Social sailing in company has also been mentioned by many berth holders. If you would like to join a social rally to enjoy a weekend away and meal out with fellow berth holders, please get in touch using our feedback form. We’d love to hear where you would like to visit, and value your input to plan this event.
Marina Improvements
As we speak new Wi-Fi hardware is being installed, to give a greater bandwidth and a more stable connection across the marina. Our normal winter maintenance includes pressure washing of the pontoons and we’ll be refreshing the berth holder facilities decor. Bigger projects in the new year include the installation of a new mains electricity power supply to the whole marina. Fortunately, there will be no significant disruption to the power supply to your berths. In February, the fuel berth will be lifted ashore for a significant project of anticorrosion works and refurbishment. We’ll confirm dates nearer the time, and anticipate several weeks of disruption to our usual fuel service.
Charity Support
Some members of the team are taking part in ‘300,000 Steps in November’ charity challenges. Louisa is raising funds for the Hamble Lifeboat and Bertie is supporting the RNLI, two very worthy causes and very close to home to everyone who enjoys time on the Hamble. If you would like to make a donation to either, please contact us in the office for more details.
The New Season
We’re looking forward to the new season. You can expect us to continue to invest in our marina as we've done this season, and the events calendar will be fun-filled and include our trolley of treats!
