Welcome to Chatham Maritime Marina Winter News
We’d like to start off by saying a massive thank you to all our berth holders for keeping your boat with us this year, for what has been another busy and memorable season.
Marina Improvements
Over the last few months, we’ve been installing new CCTV within the yard, meaning increased security and an improved high-definition picture. The yard has also benefited from a new tractor, ready and raring to go for a busy lifting season ahead. We’re delighted that historic issues with the electric on some of the pontoons have now been resolved and power is consistent. We hope you like the improvements; we have lots more planned over the winter period. If you notice anything not quite right at the marina, please report it to the marina office so we can put it right.
Lock Shutdown & Dredging
As ever our annual period of maintenance is scheduled for the upcoming year. The lock is due to close from the 10th to 30th of January 2022. The outer waiting pontoon and lock approaches will be dredged in the run up to the new season. Should you have any questions please contact the office.
Environmental and Charity Support
We continue to support the Living River Foundation, who, following concerns about the litter entering the marina and the estuary, implemented sustainable solutions to eliminate rubbish in the Chatham Maritime area. The team and customers alike have all participated in litter picking and other events to try and improve our waters. To find out more and see if you could join in, please visit www.living-river.org.
Events Calendar
Whilst the pandemic has put a stop on social events, we hope to see them return next year. Keep a look out on our Facebook page and around the marina for details. If you’d like to see a particular event next year, let us know using our online form. Don’t forget you can also join The Even Keel, our online boating community, and organise events and discuss the latest in boating with fellow berth holders.
Christmas is now firmly on the horizon and there will be festive treats at the marina for you to enjoy, so if you’re visiting be sure to pop into the marina office and enjoy a treat with the team. We’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your continued support and we look forward to another great season ahead!
