SUZUKI FISHING TEAM

Overview

The Suzuki Fishing Team is a dynamic collective of anglers supported by Suzuki Marine, showcasing the brand's commitment to marine sports and environmental stewardship. Led by Will Parkinson, a professional saltwater angler and serving firefighter, the team comprises individuals with diverse fishing specialisations, including specimen angling, spearfishing, and adventure fishing. Parkinson, who began fishing at the age of four, now captains a 25ft Smartfish 25 boat powered by Suzuki’s DF300B dual-propeller outboard, reflecting the team's emphasis on high-performance and eco-friendly equipment.

The team's prowess was notably demonstrated at the inaugural Sea Angling Classic in Portsmouth, where they clinched the top prize of £50,000. Competing against over 60 boats, the Suzuki Pro Fishing Team, including members David Lonnie, Aaron Barrett, and Graham Paisley, secured victory by a mere 15cm margin. Their success not only highlighted their skill but also underscored Suzuki's dedication to supporting competitive angling events.

Beyond competitions, the Suzuki Fishing Team actively engages in environmental initiatives. Suzuki has pioneered the integration of microplastic collection devices in their outboard motors, such as the DF115B, enabling anglers to contribute to cleaner waterways during their fishing activities. This innovation aligns with the team's participation in events like the BoatLife Fishing Championship, where sustainability and conservation are key themes.

Suzuki Marine's commitment extends to organising and supporting various fishing events, including the Suzuki Masters Fishing series and the Grand Pavois Fishing in La Rochelle. These events not only foster community among anglers but also promote responsible fishing practices, such as catch-and-release. With a growing network of ambassadors and a focus on technological advancements, the Suzuki Fishing Team exemplifies the fusion of passion for angling with environmental consciousness.
